XXI Retos para un Siglo con Derechos Humanos
Tomando en cuenta sólo uno de los retos, se tiene de décimo reto de la educación básica universal, en el cual dadas las condiciones que acompañan a las sociedades actuales y al mundo en general, es perentorio plantear una reflexión acerca de los retos que ha de afrontar la educación en medio de la complejidad de circunstancias emergentes, de los múltiples cambios que se operan constante y paulatinamente en todos los órdenes de la vida humana y sus relaciones con la totalidad de la realidad que le es propia. A través de la historia, se ha dado a la educación un papel capital y relevante en el seno de las diversas culturas y sociedades; se la ha concebido incluso como la panacea, capaz de brindar al ser humano las herramientas para la superación de las diversas problemáticas a las que en la cotidianidad la humanidad en general y en particular cada individuo se enfrenta. El contexto del mundo actual; los fines asignados, los retos demandados a la educación, son los temas de reflexión.
Si la educación “encierra un tesoro”, si de ella depende el progreso de la humanidad, si nos hace mejores seres humanos, si es: el fundamento del desarrollo en todas sus dimensiones, la herramienta capital para la superación de la pobreza; la gestora del cambio social; el mecanismo por el cual el ser humano adquiere su “auténtica humanidad”, la transmisora de la tradición, de los valores, las costumbres, los conocimientos, el dispositivo por el cual nos enfrentamos al cambio, a las incertidumbres, a lo imprevisto; “el más humano y humanizador de todos los empeños”, “un arte” cuya práctica debe perfeccionarse a lo largo de la historia; la mejor y más rentable inversión, la esperanza de la humanidad. Tal vez, haya que desenterrar el tesoro y que la educación más allá de los saberes (prácticos, técnicos, científicos…) que demandan las circunstancias actuales, nos deje ver su rostro humano o mejor nos descubra el velo y permita redescubrir, reencontrar el mundo.
Quizá la educación tuviese que optar de manera incondicional de los saberes necesarios para la educación del futuro de las cegueras del conocimiento: el error y la ilusión, los principios de un conocimiento pertinente, enseñar la condición humana, enseñar la identidad terrenal, enfrentar las incertidumbres, enseñar la comprensión y la ética del género humano; en últimas, potenciar la humanidad de la humanidad, en el contexto de los contextos.

XXI Challenges for a Century with Human Rights
Taking into account only one of the challenges, we have the tenth challenge of universal basic education, in which given the conditions that accompany current societies and the world in general, it is essential to propose a reflection on the challenges that must be met. to face education in the midst of the complexity of emergent circumstances, of the multiple changes that are constantly and gradually operating in all the orders of human life and its relations with the totality of the reality that is proper to it. Throughout history, education has been given a major and relevant role within diverse cultures and societies; it has even been conceived as a panacea, capable of providing the human being with the tools to overcome the various problems that humanity faces in general and, in particular, each individual faces. The context of the current world; the assigned goals, the challenges demanded to education, are the subjects of reflection.
If education "holds a treasure", if it depends on the progress of humanity, if it makes us better human beings, if it is: the foundation of development in all its dimensions, the capital tool for overcoming poverty; the manager of social change; the mechanism by which the human being acquires his "authentic humanity", the transmitter of tradition, values, customs, knowledge, the device by which we face change, uncertainties, the unforeseen; "The most human and humanizing of all efforts", "an art" whose practice must be perfected throughout history; the best and most profitable investment, the hope of humanity. Perhaps, we must dig up the treasure and education beyond the knowledge (practical, technical, scientific ...) that demand the current circumstances, let us see his human face or better discover the veil and rediscover, rediscover the world.
Perhaps education would have to choose unconditionally the knowledge necessary for the education of the future of the blindness of knowledge: error and illusion, the principles of a relevant knowledge, teach the human condition, teach the earthly identity, face the uncertainties , teach the understanding and ethics of the human race; Ultimately, to enhance the humanity of humanity, in the context of contexts.
