Los motivos que dan pie a la persecución

Si bien, por motivos de raza, religión, nacionalidad, pertenencia a determinado grupo social u opiniones políticas, son los únicos que legitiman a los temores fundados de ser perseguido, el mismo Manual de Procedimientos y Criterios del Alto Comisionado de las Naciones Unidas para los Refugiados (ACNUR) para la Determinación de la Condición de Refugiado, reconoce qué “el solicitante no está obligado a analizar su situación hasta el punto de poder especificar detalladamente esos motivos.”
Lo cual parece hacer ver que estas categorías no tienen contenidos de carácter estricto. Especial énfasis debe hacerse en este análisis en los motivos identificados con la pertenencia a un grupo social y a las opiniones políticas, ya que al interpretar lo dispuesto en el Manual a respecto de ellos, es sencillo colegir que en un grupo social determinado habrá una cohesión de opiniones políticas manifiestas y conocidas, que pudieran generar represalias a los miembros de determinados grupos.

The Reasons for the Persecution
Although these motives, race, religion, nationality, belonging to a certain social group or political opinions, are the only ones that legitimize the well-founded fears of being persecuted, the same Manual of Procedures and Criteria of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Refugees (UNHCR) for the Determination of Refugee Status, recognizes that "the applicant is not obliged to analyze his situation to the point of being able to specify those reasons in detail."
Which seems to show that these categories do not have content of a strict nature. Special emphasis should be made in this analysis on the reasons identified with belonging to a social group and political opinions, since when interpreting the provisions of the Manual regarding them, it is easy to infer that in a given social group there will be a cohesion of Clear and well-known political opinions that could generate reprisals against members of certain groups.
